Padma Lakshmi is the host of TV show Top Chef

American cookbook author Padma Lakshmi is the current host of the cable television network Bravo TV's reality television show "Top Chef". In "Top Chef", chefs compete against each other in various culinary challenges. Their performance is judged by a panel of professional chefs.

Padma Lakshmi has been hosting this show since season 2. She is doing an amazing job and has won appreciation from audiences across America. Padma herself has a very keen in interest in cooking and has also authored two cookbooks. Her first cookbook "Easy Exotic" won the Best First Book award at the 1999 World Cookbook Awards. She released her second cookbook Tangy, Tart, Hot and Sweet in the year 2007.

Padma was also the host of Food Network series, Padma's Passport. She was also a guest host of the British culinary tourism show Planet Food, hosting the segments on India and Spain.

As the host of "Top Chef" Padma Lakshmi has become very popular riding high on the immense popularity of the show across America. Padma Lakshmi has been hosting the show since season 2 replacing the host of season one, Katie Lee Joel.

According to Bravo TV, two new spinoffs of the Top Chef brand are underway: The first being Top Chef Junior, featuring contestants in their early teens and then Top Chef: Masters, featuring "some of the brightest stars in the world of food, award-winning, widely-renowned chefs.
